Moon-gazing Hare

Hi! Here's a birthday card I just made for my a wonderful friend of mine. We've known each other since University, where she earned the affectionate nickname of 'Stroppy Moose'. Apart from being  a little bit on the stroppy side, she's all about hippie remedies, old pagan traditions, and the beauty of the outdoors. She is also a Mountain Rescue volunteer, helping to train the rescue dogs.

I've used an image of a moon-gazing hare because it is associated with growth, new beginnings and good fortune, and there's something magical about an animal bewitched by the moon!

I coloured the image with ink dusters, masking the moon. I added extra colour to the grasses with promarkers, and embellished with punched flowers.

Cattoo!

Hi! Ok, this isn't something I have made, but I'm so excited about it I have to post it on here... a few days ago I got a little cat tattoo! He's quite small and subtle, and I love him to bits! Here he is:

Using Black Cardstock

Hi! I've made a couple of cards inspired by the current Happy Little Stampers CASE challenge. I find it quite difficult to make cards using black cardstock. For both of these cards I stamped and embossed with Stampendous Shabby White - I love the glitter in it! I coloured over the embossing powder with promarkers on the first card, to add a little bit of colour. I used gems and liquid pearls on the second one.

And Another Big Flower...

Hi! I really love this huge flower stamp! Here's another card I made, embossed on watercolour card and coloured with inks. The colours are inspired by this week's Muse challenge. I added Liquid Pearls to the centre of the flower.

A Big Flower For You

Hi! I bought a gorgeous flower stamp a few months ago, and this is the first time I've got around to using it. I stamped and embossed onto watercolour card, and coloured with inks. I added Liquid Pearls to the centre. I used Shabby White embossing powder from Stampendous, because of the glitter in it :)

70th Birthday Card

Hi! My Mum-in-law turned 70 today! She loves fairies, so I made her this card. She's not overly happy about being 70 though, so I didn't put that on the card!

I used ink dusters to create the background, masking with torn paper for the hills. The stamps are all from Lavinia. I coloured the wings and blossom with promarkers, and used Clear Star gel pen to make the wings iridescent. I added glamour dust to the wing tips, flowers and dandelions, for some extra sparkle.

Wonky Pots!

H! Recently my lovely friend Hazel and I went on a throwing course to learn how to make pots! Mine turned out a bit wonky, but I love them. It was great to go through the process of making them, tidying them up a bit, and then glazing them. The glaze is weird - when you're applying it, it looks nothing like it will after firing, so we just played around and hoped for the best.

Here are some pics of my pots, in the various stages:

Dried out, tidied a bit, and ready to be fired:

New Bike!

Hi! I got a new shiny bike the other week, and it's beautiful! There aren't many things better than cycling through forest paths to make you forget your worries :)

My bike is a mountain bike, and definitely hasn't got a basket of flowers on it! But I still love the image I used on my card, however impractical it looks...

I've coloured with Promarkers, and added Stickles to the flowers.

Hi! Here's a card I made with lots of blue! I didn't colour the blossoms at all, but added little spots of pollen with a Clear Star gelly roll pen. I'm not sure the sparkle shows very well in the photos, though.
