Happy Bird-day

Hiya! Here's a card I made, using a stamped and half-coloured image I'd had lying around for a little while! I finished colouring, using inks and a water brush, and let it dry. I cut it out and stuck it to a square piece of card that I'd printed the sentiment on. I added gems and used a wink of stella pen for sparkle.

My Cousin's Wedding

Last Saturday was my cousin's wedding, in Glasgow. It was a beautiful service, full of laughter, and my cousin and his gorgeous bride looked so happy, it was infectious!

I made this card for them. I stamped the image on watercolour paper and embossed with platinum embossing powder, then coloured with brushos. When it was dry, I mounted it on silver card. I printed the sentiment on a larger piece of card, backed onto more silver card, then used 3D squares to fix the image in the centre.

I had a little bottle of red heart confetti and a bronze heart locket with 'Wish Box' written on it, which I'd hoarded for the right project. I attached them to some bronze chain, and added another strand with a little heart charm on it, and fastened the chains to the top of the card. The 'Wish Box' locket opens, so I printed out a little message saying 'happily ever after', cut it out and folded it so that it would fit inside the locket.

Totes Amazeballs!

Hi! I've had a few things going on, so haven't been making cards or posting on here for a while, but a lovely chap at work asked me to make a card for his girlfriend, which has kicked me into action. He asked me for something with a bird on it, and for it to say 'To my totes amazeballs girlfriend'!

Here's what I made. I stamped the image twice, so I could layer up some of the feathers and petals. I coloured with inks, and added sparkle with a Wink of Stella pen and some gems.

Patterned Flower

Hi! Here's a card I made, inspired by the colours from the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. The flower is from my new stamp set, which I can't put down, I love it so much! I stamped and embossed in clear, on watercolour paper, then added colour with inks and a water brush. I tried to add some pink at the bottom of the card, to suggest tiny flowers, but over the green it just went muddy :-s But I love the flower, and the bright pink :)

Grungey Flowers

Hi! Here's a card I made using some more stamps from my new stamp set, which I'm a bit obsessed with now. It's a bit splodgier than I intended - think I went overboard with the Brushos (as always) - but I still like it. The embossing powder is white with lots of fine gold glitter, but I'm not sure it shows up that well in the photos.

The colours are inspired by the current Color Throwdown challenge.

Embossed Flowers

Hi! A new stamp set arrived a couple of weeks ago, and this is the first time I've had chance to use it. I absolutely love these scribbly flowers! I embossed onto watercolour paper, then coloured with inks. I backed the panel onto a square piece of card and stamped the sentiment underneath. I painted a scrap piece of watercolour paper and punched a couple of butterflies (I need to use a better phrase than that... no butterflies were harmed in the making of this card). I added details with a white gel pen, so they matched the flowers.

Obsession with Butterflies

Hi! Here's yet another butterfly card. This one was embossed with fine clear embossing powder, then painted with inks. The embossing has a glossy sheen to it, but it's hard to see in the photo. The colours were inspired by the current  MFT challenge.

Muted Brushos Butterfly

Hi! Here's a second version of the butterfly card. This time I used a lot more water to get a more muted, blended effect. I also used clear fine embossing powder to get a crisper image.

Brushos Butterfly

Hi! I've had a bit of an embossing frenzy today, and I've also been playing with Brushos, so my desk needs a good clean, and my hands are very colourful! I bought a butterfly stamp at the NEC in March, but hadn't got around to using it until today.

I was inspired by the image at Fusion and the colours at AAA Cards, although I'm not sure if the butterfly stands out enough. I should've used a larger sentiment too, as it looks a little bit lost in all the colour!

I stamped with Versamark and embossed with Shabby White embossing enamel, which bubbles up, and has lovely fine gold glitter in it. Then I taped the paper down, spritzed it a few times, and went crazy with the Brushos. I used a brush to spread some of the purple around on the butterfly wings, but left the rest of the colour to go where it wanted.
