Tea with a friend

Hi! I wanted to enter this week's Less Is More challenge, and decided to break out this new stamp! I wasn't sure how to colour it, as the image is quite cartoony, so I stamped the teapot on scrap paper and cut it out, making a stencil to mask the background, and then coloured with ink dusters. I used a floral stencil on top of the mask, to give the tea pot a design. I hope I didn't overdo it - not sure how easy it is to read the sentiment!

I am an unashamed tea addict, guzzling at least 9 or 10 mugs a day, and can't imagine life without it. I also think that a cup of tea and a chat can be a wonderful thing, and is a very important thing to be able to offer to anyone who's not having a great time with things, which is why I was attracted to this stamp when I saw it! I hope my friends know that I am definitely there for them whenever they need tea and a chat. A lot of the time there's not much you can do for someone you care about except listen (and make them a cuppa), but I think that is a very useful thing to do.

Anyway, here's my card:

I'm entering this in these two challenges:

Less Is More: 'One Layer: Favourite Drink / Beverage'
Crafty Calendar: 'Something New'

Ingredients:
Paper Sweeties stamp set: 'Tea for Two'
Adirondack ink pads: Butterscotch, Cranberry
Clarity Stamp stencil: 'Leafy Swirl & Dotty Wave'
Crystal Parade topaz gems

I absolutely love this card! The masking and stencilling look FAB, and the sentiment is perfect. I'm a tea drinker too and I agree a cuppa with a friend and a good chat are a great way to spend some time. Thanks so much for playing along with us at Less is More :)

Lovely card. I like the idea of using a stencil on a masked area. Great idea, I've got to try that out. Thanks for sharing at Less is More!
