Scribbly Flowers

Hi! Here's a card inspired by this week's Less Is More challenge. I stamped the flowers and sentiment, then stamped another small flower on a scrap of card, to layer about the small flower on the card. I really don't like fussy cutting, but I like the extra dimension it has given. I coloured with inks and a water brush, inspired by the colours at the Paper Play challenge, although I had to mix a couple of the colours as I didn't quite have anything that matched. I added some Nuvo Drops to the flower centres to make them stand out a little bit more, and used a Wink of Stella brush to add some shimmer to the flowers, although it hasn't shown up very well on the photos!

Bought a New Stamp Set...

Hi! I fell in love with a stamp set I saw online, and accidentally bought it... You know how it is... It arrived a few days ago, and it's just gorgeous. I love these flowers. There's a challenge at Sweet Stampin', called 'Your Favourite Stamp'. This is pretty hard for me, because I am very fickle. Generally, the last stamp I bought is my new favourite stamp :-s  So here's a card, using my new favourite stamp!

The stamp is of the two daisies together, but I wanted to separate them, inspired by the current Muse challenge, so I had to cut them out. I really really hate fussy cutting, as I am pretty rubbish at it, and it's annoying, and the fiddly bits always make the card bend, but I got on with it with minimal grumbling, and I love the result. I coloured them with inks and a water brush, and added sparkle to the flowers with a Wink of Stella pen.

I Love Daisies

Hi! I made a couple of cards, trying out my new daisy die! I used a couple of the Distress Oxide backgrounds I made a few weeks ago, and die cut square frames for them. I die cut the daisies, doubling up the petals on one of them, and coloured them with Distress Oxides. I used 3D squares to fasten the daisy heads, to give a bit of dimension, and glued the stem to the frame.

Later In The Evening

Hi! Here's another card with the tree and birds, but this time I wanted to do a late evening version, with blues and purples. I coloured with ink dusters, and then smothered it all with Glimmer Mist. I love the colours in this one, and I'm thinking I'd like to make a version with a tree stamp and some little bats, for Halloween!

Autumn Sunset

Hi! Here's a card I made using a new image I bought from Vectorstock. It's such a simple and peaceful scene, I fell in love with it! I masked the setting sun, and created the sky with ink dusters. I cut the frame with my Big Shot, and then drenched the whole thing in Glimmer Mist.

Dance 'Til You Fall Over

Hi! I can't dance for toffee, and when I try I'm more of a danger to anyone nearby than a thing of grace and beauty, but I love the image from the current Inkspirational challenge, and was determined to make a card for it. I haven't got any background stamps or papers with music on, so I made a background with Distress Oxides. I printed an image of a dancer, and labouriously cut it out (I really hate fussy cutting!). I cut a frame with my Big Shot, fixed the background behind it, and used 3D squares to attach the dancer in front.

More Borders

Hi! Here's another card using the Vectorstock border images. I coloured with Promarkers, and chose soft greens, pinks, blue, grey and brown, inspired by the current Card Concept challenge. I also used hammered cardstock to add to the soft, weathered look.

I'm entering this one in the following challenges:

Leafy Borders

Hi! Here's a card I made after puzzling over the sketch challenge at CC&S! I used some leafy border images, with a sentiment in between. I coloured the leaves and berries with inks, and then added Nuvo Drops to give the berries some dimension. I haven't got a deep blue in Nuvo Drops, but if you use clear over inks, the clear seems to take up the colour of the ink, so you end up with a blue drop instead of a clear drop :)
